SHHHHHH - WE WON'T MENTION THIS TO HUBBY ...

Couldn't sleep last night (surprise surprise) to got up around 11:00 and fired up the computer.  The next thing I knew, it was 3:00 in the morning and I'm sitting in my computer chair drooling.  I got up and went to bed and slept until 6:00 am.

Came in after breakfast to get dressed and realized that the left lens of my glasses wasn't actually in my glasses - it had gone awol sometime during the strange night.  I got my little high-powered flashlight and started to comb the bedroom.  Found the little sucker right beside my computer chair and managed to cram it back into the opening - but it didn't feel very secure when I put it in.  Lucky for me, I'm going to the optometrist on Thursday, so it only has to last for three days!  I can keep cramming it back in place until then, as long as I can keep finding it.  It must not be doing my eye much good, since I wore those glasses for two hours before I noticed that the lens was missing!

Trust me, these are very high grade. We have the progressive bifocal, the anti-dirt & dust coating, the automatic darkening lenses – and they’re that new super plastic that never dies!

LOL! Be careful you don’t step on it. That would not be good.

I could stomp on them and they’d never break.

I hate when that happens (lens popping out). I wear contacts like 99% of the time, Im not sure why my lens pops out. But yeah, if you didn’t even notice the lens was missing, it might be time for stronger lens prescription.

missing lenses can definitely give one a warped view on life

Yes – a one-sided view, one might say.

Well, if you are making people laughing, you are a success in life, as far as I’m concerned.

I’m fine. Pissed, mostly. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha

In other words, your usual condition! I suppose I like making people laugh, unless they’re laughing AT me.

If you didn’t notice, perhaps your vision is correcting itself.

Wouldn’t that be wonderful? I don’t think my eyes are that clever, though.

    Lucky you found it.

Naw, not lucky. I used my tiny little high-powered flash light and found it right away. The lens has enough of a curve to it that it showed up pretty clearly.

You wear wire frames, tighten the retention screw.

Yup – had to loosen it to get the lens back in – then tighten it. It only has to last for two more days.

Glad you found it. You made a great point about the lens being gone and you didn’t notice. They must help you see. I could not see a thing without mine. As luck may have it, only a few days.

Haven’s had new glasses for over a year. I finally called and made an appointment – they usually take care of that, but I must have gotten shoved out of the queue when my regular optometrist retired from the business. I’ll be going to see his daughter on Thursday.
