BABY STEPS

I fixed lunch today!  It was nothing fancy, but it's just about the only thing I've cooked since I got home.  I baked some sweet potatoes and heated up some ham slices.  We had butter and brown sugar and cinnamon on the sweet potatoes.  They were so big we were able to split one!  The most effort I had to put out was to scrub the sweet potatoes.  If I feel this good tomorrow, I think I'll attempt something really difficult like mac and cheese (made from scratch, of course).  I'm not sure I'm up to grating all that cheese, but if I only manage half as much as usual, I'll cut down the rest of the ingredients and make a smaller batch.  Woohoo!

Thanks! And I always wish that for you and your wife and family. BTW, I feel pretty great right now. I’m about to let Hubby choose between baked ziti and macaroni salad.

I’m reading between lines and assuming that you have had difficulties preventing day to day things like meal making, and just wanted to say it was heart-warming to read your post above! From whatever you are recovering, I wish you a speedy return… and let me know when you are back to full strength so I can pop round for lunch – I’m embarrassed to admit that I’m about to throw a ready-made meal into the microwave… (Actually in my defence, that is quite rare for me – usually I make more of an effort than that, but I have some health issues that intermittently make day to day living quite a challenge) – but hey, the odd microwave meal is probably OK…

Indeed, the microwave is our friend! I’m recovering very slowly and unevenly from a knee replacement on November 18. Then there’s my on-going severe insomnia … Thanks for the good wishes! Once in a while, I do have a good day!

Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! You are so funny. I don’t know how far behind you are on me, tomorrow I am going to see an ENT about the nodule they found on my Thyroid, when I was in the hosp the second time. Did you know I had been in the hosp twice. NOw I am on a 6 wks leave from WalMart. I don’t think I will ever work there again. I think when the 6 wks LOB is over, I will get a job at Dollar Tree. They pay the same as WalMart. I just want try to work as much there as I did at WalMart. Maybe then I won’t get messed up like I did at WalMart.

I’ve been through thyroid surgery – twice! It wasn’t too bad, but I have an awful scar on my neck because the first doctor didn’t know what he was doing. Be sure to ask about a scar when you see the doctor. He should tell you that they’ll make just a tiny incision at the base of your neck.
