ALL MY INTERACTIONS WITH PEOPLE ARE AT THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE!

I went back to the doctor today and was sitting in the waiting room when a lady came in with her daughter.  They sat across from me and the daughter was helping the woman fill out some simple forms, showing her where to sign, where to print, etc.  The woman said, "Oh no, I have to put down my age!  Nobody peek!"

I said, "Oh, come on, if you're older than I am, it can't be by much."

She said, "I'm old enough to be your mother.  I'm 80 years old."

I said, "I'm 73 - don't think you could have quite managed to be my mother."

I loved the look on her face.  The thing is, I don't look that young.  I don't have any idea why she thought I could be her daughter.  I'd have to be in my late 50's, right?  All you have to do is look at my wrinkles, my pouchy eyes, etc., to know better than that!  Still, it made me feel good.

Age is just a number. Remember, in many cultures the higher the age the more cherished and respected the person.
